THE summer reading challenge has returned to Hampshire’s libraries.
Last year, over a quarter of all children aged between four and 11 in the county took part in the challenge, which is a fun and rewarding way to keep reading during the long holiday.
Children are challenged to sign up in their local library to read or listen to six library books before September 13.
They can then earn stickers, a ‘record breaker’ certificate and even a medal if they complete the challenge.
Cllr Andrew Gibson, Hampshire County Council’s executive member for culture, recreation and countryside, said: “The summer reading challenge makes reading fun as there are things to collect along the way.”
