FORENSIC science students got a taste of higher-level study when Ben Littlefield, science lecturer at the University of Reading, visited BCoT to run a fingerprinting masterclass.
Ben gave a talk to first-year forensics students about the use of fingerprints in crime scenes to help them gain a greater knowledge and understanding of the subject area.
The students were also given a demonstration on how to make an exemplar set of prints and then had the opportunity to try it themselves.
Ben said: “When the college contacted me, I jumped at the chance to come and showcase our research and inspire the future generation of scientists.
“It was excellent to give the students a glimpse of university education whilst helping them to gain more practical experience.”
