AN AFTER school club in North Waltham has been graded as “outstanding” by Ofsted.

Cool Kidz After School Club, in Church Road, was visited by the education watchdog on June 2, and a report published on June 20 said: “The quality and consistency of teaching is exceptional and staff have an excellent knowledge of how children learn. The manager effectively monitors the provision for those young children who attend from local pre-schools, nurseries and childminders.”

The club was found to be “outstanding” in all areas.

Cool Kidz club was registered in 2008 and operates from a classroom at North Waltham Primary School, running from 7.30am until 9am and again between 3.15pm to 6pm.

Inspector Melissa Cox said: “Children’s ‘voices’ are the centre of this club. They are active participants in decision making and have excellent opportunities to provide feedback on what they enjoy at the club and what they would like to improve.”

The Ofsted report described the atmosphere as “calm and caring”, adding that the children behave “extremely well”.
