TWO business students from BCoT have been offered permanent part-time jobs following successful work experience placements.

Reece Vint had his work placement with specialist recruitment company Capita. Having never worked in an office environment before, Reece was naturally nervous about starting.

The feedback given to Reece on his overall performance was very positive, so much so that he was offered a part-time job in the company working two days a week.

He said: “I couldn’t believe it when my manager offered me the position. I must admit I did feel a real sense of achievement. My parents and teachers at college are all proud of me so that’s great!”

Jack Nicholls spent his six weeks work experience at Merit Recruitment supporting all areas of the business.

Although the office environment was all new to him, Jack said he soon got used to it and quickly settled in and felt part of the team.

He said: “I was not sure what to expect when I first started. It was great though as I was given responsibilities from the beginning so wanted to prove that I could do the job and do it well.

“It was brilliant when Merit offered me a job at the end of the placement!

Apparently I exceeded all their expectations, so this was a great compliment and a real boost to my confidence.”

He has been offered a part-time role at Merit Recruitment.
