A BASINGSTOKE school which was told to improve has now been judged as “good”.

Hatch Warren Junior School, in Gershwin Road, was previously graded as “requires improvement” in November 2013.

Inspectors revisited the school in January, and a report published on February 2, said: “The school’s success is founded on the significant strengths of its headteacher and the very good support she receives from the deputy headteacher.”

The school is not yet graded as “outstanding” because the achievement of pupils in writing is not improving as rapidly as in reading and maths.
