A NEW deputy principal has joined the senior management team at a Basingstoke college.

Jacqueline Grubb (pictured) has joined Basingstoke College of Technology as deputy principal for curriculum, performance and innovation, from Swindon College.

She brings with her 27 years of experience in further education, including working as an Ofsted inspector.

Recalling how she started her career in education, mother-of-two Jacqueline said: “Enjoying a successful career in the hair and beauty industry, including owning my own business, I was approached to undertake some part-time lecturing alongside this and discovered a passion for teaching and learning.

“Part-time lecturing became full-time lecturing, curriculum and quality management and then into senior leadership.

“Alongside this I was an external verifier and am still currently working with Ofsted as an inspector.”

Commenting on her new role, she said: “I am especially excited about working closely with students, staff, governors and stakeholders to ultimately make BCoT the first choice for all learners in the region.”
