KEEPING safe was the theme of an event organised for schoolchildren.
Year 6 pupils from schools across Basingstoke and Deane attended the council run Think Safe event at Bramley Training Camp.
More than 1,400 pupils learned about the importance of keeping safe with events taking place over two weeks.
The one at Bramley Training Camp saw children participate in a variety of sessions run by the police, The Safer North Hampshire Team, the Royal National Lifeboat, trading standards officers, the fire service, British Red Cross and Sainsbury’s.
Talks were given on fire safety, and other sessions included first aid, stranger danger, cyber safety and sea safety.
Pupils also experienced live mock-ups of dangerous situations which they may face in their day-to-day lives.
Under the guidance of experts, they learned how to respond and the correct way to keep themselves and others safe.
