A HOLIDAY club which was set up last year for disabled children has been told it needs to improve following a watchdog inspection.
Challengers Basingstoke registered in 2013 and is one of a number of groups run by Disability Challengers.
The holiday club runs from Saxonwood School, in Barron Place, and is open from 9.30am until 4pm during the Easter and summer holidays. Thirty children are on roll within the early years age range.
Ofsted graded Challengers Basingstoke as “requires improvement” in a report published in February.
It said: “Children make steady progress in relation to their starting point. Overall, children enjoy the activities on offer and most staff effectively promote the children’s learning and development well.”
However, it added: “Systems to help children develop skills for their future learning, such as starting school, are not always successful.”
