TRAFFIC lights will be in place for three weeks this month in a village while a water company carries out work.

From Monday 16 October, temporary traffic lights will be in place along Bramley Road at its junction with Silchester Road, Little London for South East Water to start its project to lay 1,110 metres of new water main as part of a £182,000 investment project The company says the project will secure water supplies for current and future customers in the area.

Chris Love, delivery manager at South East Water, said: “We know roadworks can be frustrating but we will be working as quickly as we can to complete this scheme.

“Temporary traffic lights will be in place for three weeks while we start work to lay our new pipeline. Once we have finished this section of work we will need to continue laying our new pipeline along Bramley Road.

“This work will be carried out under a road closure to keep the public and our workforce safe.

“While Bramley Road is closed motorists should follow the official diversion via Little London Road, Pamber Road, Silchester Road, Pamber Heath Road, Rowan Road and A340 Aldermaston Road.”
