AN INTREPID dental practice team are celebrating after scaling the heights of Mount Snowdon and raising thousands of pounds for a local cancer charity.

Every year, the staff at Imogen Dental, which has a practice in North Street, Kingsclere decide to help a deserving cause, and this year they set their sights on raising funds for, and awareness of, Ark Cancer Centre Charity and the cancer treatment centre project it is supporting.

On May 20, staff took on the daunting tasking of trekking up Wales’ highest mountain and managed to raise more than double their original £3,000 target.

Dr Neel Tank founded Imogen Dental in 2005, with his wife Laura.

Speaking about the Mount Snowdon fundraising feat, Neel said: “We, as a team, are extremely proud of our achievement in reaching Snowdon’s summit via the Pyg track.

“This was a demanding challenge, and we had to climb up and over very wet and slippery rocky terrain, steep inclines, natural waterfalls and at times, narrow treacherous ledges.

“The promised view from the summit may have been shrouded by rain and low cloud but the beaming smiles all around showed that we relished our success.”

In a bid to maximise the amount of funds they can raise, the Imogen Dental team – which consisted of Neel Tank, Laura Tank, Norma Watson, Jane Gardner, Adele Marietti, Rikesh Patel, Kashif Hafeez, Kim Willis, Rebecca Cruddace, Elizabeth Thomas, Elenica Orolloga, Rebecca Canning and Suzan Al-Ali – have been fundraising through The Good Exchange.

This means with money still coming in, the fundraising total will be doubled as is set to top £7,200.
