RESIDENTS in Hart are set to benefit from an £11 million project to stop the misery of sewer flooding.
A new sewer pumping station in Hitches Lane, Fleet has been built to replace a smaller facility and it will protect properties nearby from flooding.
It has also been designed with added capacity to handle wastewater from any additional developments that may be built in the area in the future.
Chairman of Hart District Council (HDC), Cllr Tim Southern, who opened the facility, said: “This pumping station is a testament to what good communication and working in partnership can achieve.”
