A LOCAL support group has received a sizable donation from a supermarket chain as a part of its charity scheme.
Staff at John Lewis in Basingstoke presented a cheque for £1,350 to the Basingstoke Stroke Survivors Group as a part of the store’s Community Matters scheme.
The group will use the money to pay for their meeting place in Carnival Hall.
The Community Matters scheme supports nominated charitable causes, and divides £3,000 between all of them every three months, through a combination of money, products and volunteering time from staff. Tokens from customers given at stores decide how the fund is shared.
