Mr Lindfield will oversee the running of the 62 bed home and will be responsible for a team of 100 staff after his promotion from deputy manager at Marnel Lodge.

Mr Lindfield said: “I am delighted to continue to be part of the team at Marnel Lodge and feel very proud to be at the helm of such a wonderful home where our residents, relatives and staff are happy.”

Duncan Edwards the regional director for Marnel Lodge Care Home, said: “I am pleased to welcome Scott in his new role at Marnel Lodge, I know that he will continue to drive the home and the team forward and show all what a great place Marnel Lodge is.

"We are committed to providing high quality care and I really think Scott is a big hit with our residents.”

Marnel Lodge is one of over 200 care homes owned by Barchester Healthcare.

The home regularly holds events and activities for its residents and surrounding neighbours. One such event is an open day on Saturday, 21 April, being run from noon to 4pm.

Guests and residents will be served home-made cakes and snacks from the home's head chef while visitors can find out more about the services the homes offers by chatting to friendly staff, and enjoy hospitality and entertainment on offer.

Mr Lindfield added: “I’m excited about welcoming new visitors and existing friends of the home to our open day on 21st April for what will no doubt be both a fun and relaxing event. It’s a great time to visit the home and ask questions, but also just to enjoy some delightful entertainment in a homely and friendly setting.”
