FROM the six-headed Hydra to Pegasus the winged horse and the mighty Cyclops to the Hippogriff of Harry Potter fame, fantastic creatures have found a new home in Basingstoke.

Mythical LEGO beasts have taken to the cobbled streets of the Milestones Museum in a new exhibition and adventure.

Young adventurers are challenged to track down all mythical beasts who have escaped, and, with the help of the wise Owl of Athena, recapture them.

All the creations are built by professional LEGO building company, Bright Bricks, with more than one million bricks and hundreds of hours of work put into constructing the 30 LEGO creatures scattered around the museum.

For the six-headed Hydra, it took six builders 122 hours to complete using 177,000 bricks, while Vladdigor the Chimera, a fire-breathing monster with the body of a goat’s body, a lion’s head and a serpent’s tail, took a team of people 117 hours and 135,210 bricks to build.

In addition to the live-action activity trail, there are plenty of other LEGO activities to enjoy at Milestones, including aLEGO play area, mosaic activity and make-and-take LEGO Minifigures.

LEGO fans can also come along to big build weekends on Saturday, 24 February, Saturday, 3 March and Saturday, 10 March to take part in a live-build to construct a giant LEGO Greek temple.

Mythical Beasts runs until April 15 and is included in Milestones standard admission charge though a small, additional charge applies to the LEGO Minifigure make-andtake activity.
