STAFF from across Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation attended a special conference to hear how practices are advancing.

Held at the Ark based at Basingstoke hospital on Friday, 11 May, the Workforce Transformation and Advancing Practice conference gave staff from across Hampshire Hospitals the opportunity to showcase the ways they had advanced practice in their area.

The day also featured special talks from guest speakers Jane Cummings, chief nurse of NHS England, Suzanne Rastrick, chief allied health professional officer of NHS England, and Beverly Harding from Health Education England.

Speaking to the conference on the day, Suzanne said: “I am amazed to see such a wide range of staff here today, including paramedics, radiographers, operating department practitioners, physiotherapists and dieticians.

“Today is about sharing the ways you have transformed and progressed practice in your areas. This has added so much value to the care and treatment patients have received which makes such a difference to their lives.”

Jane added:  “I am delighted to be here today, and very proud to be a nurse as we celebrate International Nurses Day.

“I am sure you all have many incredible ideas to help enhance the patient journey and I would encourage you to have a stronger voice and talk to your clinical leaders about your ideas.”

There was also praised Donna Green, chief nurse at Hampshire Hospitals, for her leadership and innovation over many years at the Trust.
