POLICE are looking for a man in connection with several incidents of fraud, some of which took place in Basingstoke.

The man is alleged to have committed fraud in the areas of Basingstoke, Portsmouth, Eastleigh, and Southampton, and police suspect that there are more instances that have not been reported.

It is alleged that the man approached people pretending that he is from a nearby off-license, when he offers to sell alcohol at cost price due to the store closing soon.

After this, the man takes the victim to the back of the store or nearby, and takes money from the victim, claiming that he would be going to the front of the store and would bring the goods out.

Victims would only realise that this was a scam when no one came out again and that the man had gone.

Police are trying to identify the man in the photo, and would also like to hear if anyone else has been a victim of this.

Anyone with any information can call 101 with the reference 44170494433 or e-mail ellon.whitney@hampshire.pnn.police.uk.
