MOTORISTS are being asked to plan ahead next week as South East Water enters the final phase of a £182,000 pipeline project.

The water company started work to lay 1,110 metres of new water main along Bramley Road, Little London on Monday 16 October and so far, 1,090 metres of the pipeline has been laid.

To lay the final 20 metres of water main, traffic lights will be in place along the A340 Aldermaston Road at the junction with Bramley Road between Monday 11 December and Friday 15 December.

Matthew Cooper, project manager at South East Water, said: “Work has progressed well on our scheme to lay a new pipeline along Bramley Road and we would like to thank the local community for their patience so far.

“To allow us to lay the final 20 metres of pipe and connect the new water main to the existing network of underground pipes, traffic lights will be in operation for five days.

“We know roadworks can be frustrating but we will be working as quickly as we can to complete this scheme.”
