WITNESSES are being asked to come forward after an attempted robbery near Stag Hill.
A 49-year-old woman was walking beside a block of garage to the rear of Portsmouth Walk near Stag Hill, on Friday, 17 November when two men approached her.
One of the men pressed an unknown object against her back, demanding she hand over any cash and valuables.
However, the woman none on her persons and when they then demanded her phone they found out she didn't have one of those on her either. They then pushed her from behind and ran off.
The man making the demands is reported to have had what appeared to be an eastern European accent and all his clothing was black including a beanie hat, and described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and had dark hair.
The second man, who didn't speak, also wore black clothing his jacket had a waxy appearance with writing or an emblem on the left breast area. He also wore a black baseball cap. He had olive skin and was aged in his early 20s, around 5 feet 8 inches tall and slim.
Police are asking anyone with any information about the incident or thinks they may have seen anything suspicious around the area at around 9pm to 9.20pm to contact 101 quoting reference 44170448840. Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
