A NEW trampoline park set to open in Basingstoke will boast England’s first indoor obstacle course to use interactive wearable technology.

Flip Out Basingstoke, which will be opening in Festival Place later this year, will feature NinjaTAG, which uses sensors installed around the arena to communicate with wristbands allowing customers to take part in a variety of games and challenges.

Drawing inspiration from outdoor assault courses like Tough Mudder and TV programmes such as Total Wipeout and Ninja Warrior, NinjaTAG monitors participants’ movements around obstacles to test their speed, strategy, bravery and agility before ranking them against other visitors.

Jon Inwards, CEO of Flip Out UK, said: “I’m excited to announce that NinjaTAG, a new concept in social active leisure, is coming to Flip Out Basingstoke.

“The great thing about the TAG technology is that you can keep a record of your score around the course and then come back to Flip Out Basingstoke to beat your best time and see how much you’ve improved your fitness.

“There will even be a number of exciting daily NinjaTAG challenges to test every part of your fitness and agility.”

The exclusive high-tech course offers active and interactive fun for ages eight and up, across a multi-level arena, where up to 70 participants can compete with friends to try and beat their best scores.

This new addition will form part of the trampoline park, which also features 30ft high cyber towers, 25ft high super slides, battle beams, climbing walls, a wipeout zone and laser maze.

Centre director at Festival Place, Steven Connolly, said: "We are delighted to be welcoming Flip Out to its new home in Festival Place.

“With different activities available for all ages we're confident that it will be very popular with those who live both locally and a little further afield.

“We're also excited to be adding to our leisure offering, alongside the many stores and restaurants already available, to make Festival Place a really varied and fun place to visit."
