A BIRTHDAY balloon for a Basingstoke youngster has travelled more than 100 miles across the country - and now a search is on to find exactly who it came from.
Rebecca Louise O'Dell, of Braintree, Essex, found over the weekend a balloon close to her flats with the messaging "Happy Birthday Riley! Basingstoke, England. See how far I can travel. Facebook when found." written on it.
Now, Rebecca wants to get in touch with Riley's family to let them know how far the balloon travelled.
She said: "It was found in a rose bush near my block of flats. It made me smile to find such a cute thing - I like the idea of it so I will be doing it with my children.
"We wish Riley a happy birthday from the O'Dell family!"
