A TADLEY couple’s baby has proved to be a special arrival for not just the proud parents.

Natalie and Matt Hilton’s baby Evelyn has marked a huge milestone for the fertility clinic Wessex Fertility with Evelyn being the 3,500th baby born through its treatment.

Speaking about their arrival earlier this year, Natalie said: “It was a bit of a shock! But having her is wonderful, she has such a personality and has a very cheeky smile.

“We had a really positive experience and have already recommended Wessex to family members. It was lovely to find out that she was Wessex Fertility’s 3,500th baby, it’s really special.”

Nurse Natalie met IT consultant Matt in 2006. The couple married in 2009 and decided to try for a baby, but having been diagnosed with polycystic ovaries in her late teens, Natalie knew she may have trouble conceiving.

After ovulation induction treatment was unsuccessful with their GP, the couple were referred to Wessex Fertility, which has a satellite clinic in Basingstoke - the Candover Clinic, based at Basingstoke hospital.

In March 2016, the couple embarked on their first IVF cycle following their initial consultation at the clinic, with Natalie having 20 eggs collected.

In June last year, the couple were ready for one of their frozen embryos to be transferred.

An embryo was selected and thawed before being transferred to Natalie’s womb.

The couple had a two week wait to discover if Natalie was pregnant. Natalie added: “When we found out I was pregnant, we were completely taken aback, we felt like we didn’t want to celebrate too soon, but when we’d seen the heartbeat on the scan everything felt real!”
