A HOUSEBUILDER has enlisted the support of school pupils to name its new development.

David Wilson Homes has been working with Hook Junior School on its upcoming development in Griffin Way, Hook and has set up a competition for pupils to come up with names that reflect the heritage of the area.

Andrew De Souza, architectural technician at David Wilson Homes, recently visited the school to show pupils the plans for the site and enlist their help with the naming name.

Rob Allen, sales director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “At David Wilson Homes, we pride ourselves in building not only quality homes, but also communities, which is why we like to build relationships in this way and involve existing members of the community throughout the homebuilding process.

“We are excited to see the suggestions that the pupils at Hook Junior School come up with for our new development.”

The winning name will be used on all signs and promotional material for the lifetime of the development.

Amanda Westaway, deputy headteacher at the Ravenscroft school, said: “This is a great way for the children to be involved with the community, learn about nearby housing developments and actually put their mark on society.

“We would like to thank David Wilson Homes for the opportunity; all of our pupils are very excited to get started with the competition.”
