THREE chickens were rescued by firefighters during an operation in Tadley on Saturday afternoon.
The pet chickens, named Waitrose, Tesco and Jock, were caught up in the incident in Silchester Road at around 2pm.
Firefighters from the Tadley and Basingstoke stations were called to reports of a fire in the open at 2.02pm.
The fire had badly damaged a shed, surrounding fencing and trees with firefighters using a hose reel to extinguish the flames.
Firefighters were on scene for around half an hour, putting out the fire using one hose reel and ensuring the chickens were safe.
.... this is 'Waitrose', 'Tesco' & 'Jock'. They are fine and well and looking forward to treats from their owner when the fuss has subsided. pic.twitter.com/IMNvU1LHHn
