A BASINGSTOKE secondary school is celebrating 50 years since its doors opened this summer and is appealing for old photos to show off its history.

Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College (CBEC) is appealing to its former pupils, teachers and members of the community to help mark the milestone.

The Wessex Close school will be hosting a summer extravaganza on July 22.

With activities planned throughout the day it will be the perfect opportunity for old friends and teachers to catch up and reminisce about their time at the school.

The day will be concluded with a celebratory concert performed by pupils and staff for all to enjoy.

To make the event even more special for those who attend, current staff are looking for photos and stories from past students.

Kirsty Sayers, marketing and website administrator at CBEC, said: “We would like to show the changing face of Cranbourne over the last half century.

“If you have any images of your time at Cranbourne, for example showing uniform or if you have any images of how the school site and buildings have changed, we would love to see them. Already we have heard from some students and staff who started in September 1967, which is fantastic and we would be delighted to hear from many more.”

The gates of the school will open at 2pm for the celebrations, with the official opening ceremony at 2.30pm.
