RENEWED appeals to help find the mother of a baby girl whose body was found in a Hampshire park have been launched by police.

As previously reported officers were concerned for the mother's welfare afer the body of the newborn was found in Manor Park, Church Hill, Aldershot, at about 1.30pm on May 19.

Police have thanked the community for its support and help since the body was found, but say their priority is finding the mother and to ensure she gets the medical care she needs and as time moves on we are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.

From ongoing investigations police believe that Baby M may have been left in the park sometime between Sunday, May 14 and Tuesday, May 16.

It is also believed it could be a possibility that the mother had given birth just outside the park underneath the oak tree and then taken Baby M into the park, where she was later found.

Chief Inspector Debbie Brooks said: “Our priority remains finding the mother of Baby M and as each day passes, we are growing more and more concerned for her welfare.

“We know that this must be a very distressing time for you but we want to make sure that you get the urgent medical care that you need.

“Please get in touch with us via 101 or go to a hospital for medical attention, our priority is your wellbeing.

“I would also like to thank the community for their support as our enquiries continue.

“Our neighbourhood officers have been out patrolling in Manor Park and the surrounding areas since Friday, speaking to people who live in the area and use the park, as we try to establish how Baby M came to be in this park.

“We will be continuing these patrols over the coming days, so if you see us and you have any concerns or think you may have information that could help, please don’t hesitate in coming over and talking to us.

“We are now looking at the possibility that Baby M could have been left in the park sometime between Sunday, May 14 and Tuesday, May 16.

“So we are keen to speak to anyone who would have walked through the park between these times, or who has been in the area.

“Did you see anything that you thought was unusual or saw someone acting strangely?

“What may seem insignificant to you could be really useful to our enquiry, so please let us know.

“The same goes for anyone who has concerns for a friend or a relative. Please get in touch with us, your information could help us ensure the mother of Baby M gets the help and support she needs.”
