AN OVERTON girl has secured a highly coveted spot at a prestigious ballet school in London.

Imogen Strong took just one of 12 places to train at the Royal Ballet School recently.

The St Gabriel’s pupil will now be able to become a professional ballerina, which has been dream of hers since she started dancing at three-years-old.

Back then it was just one ballet class a week but over time this has progressed to attending dance classes at JLD School of Dance in Kingsclere almost every day after school.

However, Imogen’s ultimate dream became a reality when in early March she was invited back to the Royal Ballet School to attend two final days of auditions and interviews, along with many other national and international hopefuls.

When she joins the Royal Ballet School in Year 7 this September, she will divide her time between academic classes and ballet.

The 10-year-old said she just cannot wait to start and is incredibly grateful to all the support shown to her by staff and friends at St Gabriel’s.
