RAILWAY users are facing delays after a cow got onto tracks this morning.

The incident happened near Ashurst at about 7.30am and South West Trains says services will be disrupted until about 9.30am.

A statement says: "A cow got on to the line near Ashurst earlier this morning.

"A member of response staff has managed to lure the cow off of the line, but it is still very close, and as a result, trains must pass through the area at a reduced speed.

"We are sorry for any delays this causes."

There has also been a signalling problem between Brookwood and Ash Vale on the Aldershot bound line.

Train services running through these stations may be delayed. Disruption is expected until 9.30am.

A points failure occurred earlier today between Brookwood and Ash Vale, meaning that trains were unable to pass between these stations in the Alton-bound direction. .
