A BASINGSTOKE shoe-shop closed its doors for the final time this week, after the majority of the company was sold to an investment firm.
Jones Bootmaker, which was based in Festival Place, this week shut as the bulk of it was acquired by Endless.
The shop is one of 25 “underperforming” stores that have closed – with about 260 jobs lost.
The Gazette contacted Jones Bootmaker to find out how many jobs had been lost, but at the time of publication the request to comment was not responded to.
Alteri Investors, which owns Jones Bootmaker, this week also lost Brantano.
Steven Connolly, centre director of Festival Place, said: “Jones Bootmaker has been part of the centre for many successful years and we are sad to see it go.”
He added: “We have a number of exciting conversations ongoing and new brands will be revealed in due course.”
