A BASINGSTOKE care provider is celebrating after securing a second ‘outstanding’ grading from inspectors.

Care Opportunities Support Living (COSL), which supports The Conifers care home in Kempshott that last year achieved an ‘outstanding’ grade, saw its Rosemount House service, in Chequers Road, gain another top grade from inspectors.

The company welcomed inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to its properties on December 14, 16 and 20.

In a report published by the CQC on March 1, it said: “The difference the service was making to people’s lives was apparent.

“Some of the people had previously displayed anxious behaviour or had been emotionally disturbed, which had led to restrictive lifestyles. However, the service now supported them in a more positive way. People needed consistent support to make them feel secure and understood, to manage their behaviours and to make their needs known.

“During the inspection we observed people receiving this. The warmth of the relationships with each other and with staff, and the opportunities for new experiences enabled people to make positive progress.”

The CQC, an independent regulator of all health and social care services in England, grades sevices in the country in five different grades between ‘inadequate’ and ‘outstanding’.

COSL’s service also has two homes in Surrey.

The report added: “There was a positive culture within the service, the management team provided strong leadership and led by example.”
