A DIAMOND couple from Dummer are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary.
Robert and Irene Crook got married on March 16, 1957, at St Michael’s Church in Basingstoke, the same year that they moved to the house in Dummer where they still live to this day.
Both Robert, 85, and Irene, 86, worked at the Joint Nurseries together for several years, sharing their love of flowers, particularly carnations, together.
Robert also spent a few years in the RAF, before working at Lansing Bagnells (now Linde) until he retired. Irene spent her time in the village of Dummer, bringing up their two children, Sue and Alan.
The couple enjoyed a tea party last Sunday, surrounded by their family and friends.
