BASINGSTOKE firefighters have attended a fire at Basingstoke Sewage Treatment plant in Chineham.
At 1:25pm today, crews were called to the sewage treatment plant, in Whitmarsh Lane, to deal with ‘a small fire involving an industrial unit.’ Three pumps from Basingstoke were called to the scene. They used one hose reel, two jets, and two sets of breathing apparatus. The fire is now out.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a small fire involving an industrial unit. There is currently one engine waiting at the scene for an electrician to make the premises safe.”
