THIEVES broke into a convenience store overnight stealing a large sum of money and cigarettes.
Police received reports of a burglary at the Centaur News store in Kingsclere Road, Houndmills, this morning.
Entry was gained to the store when the front shutter was forced open causing damage.
At present the exact amount stolen from the store is unknown, but a police investigation is ongoing.
Cigarettes and cash were stolen.
If anyone saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area in the early hours of the morning or has any information on the incident they are asked to call police on 101 quoting 44160386487.
Centaur News store is currently open and is running as usual.
