A TEENAGE girl has been taken to Basingstoke hospital with serious head and back injuries after falling from a bridge onto the A339.

The girl, believed to be in her late teens, was discovered on the westbound bank of the Ringway North Westbound between the A339 East Junction and the Aldermaston Interchange.

Officers were called to the scene at 9.04am after there was concern for the welfare of the girl.

South Central Ambulance Service (SACS) sent a rapid response unit, a road ambulance and an air ambulance to the scene.

The teenager was then taken to Basingstoke hospital by road ambulance.

A spokesperson for SCAS said: “We were called to the scene at 9.02am where a female had fallen from a bridge onto the Ringway North.

“She sustained serious injuries to the head and back.”  

The road remains closed while an officers carry out an investigation.
