THE man responsible for stabbing to death 31-year-old Dean Evans has been sentenced to 11 years in a young offenders' institution at Winchester Crown Court today.

Liam Darvill, 20, of Beaconsfield Road, in Fairfields, pleaded guilty to manslaughter yesterday and was sentenced by Lord Justice Sweeney.

He admitted to fatally stabbing Mr Evans twice at a friend's house in Benham Road, Popley, on April 8.

Mr Evans was found lying on the pavement by police at 5.30am and died in hospital a short time later.
