HARTLEY Wintney's Olympic golf hero Justin Rose has had his medical records published online by the Russian hackers known as the Fancy Bears.

He was among 26 new athletes from 10 countries, including Odiham-born hockey player Alex Danson and double gold medallist Mo Farah, to have personal information stolen from the World Anti-Doping Agency's data storage system.

The information relates to therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs) the athletes were granted so they could take medicine that would otherwise be banned.

Rose's TUE is for an anti-inflammatory drug he took to treat a back injury that caused him to miss several weeks of action in May and June, while almost all the other British TUEs are for fairly routine asthma and allergy prescriptions.

Rose claimed the sport’s first Olympic gold medal for 112 years last month after edging out Open champion Henrik Stenson in a thrilling final-round battle in Rio.

The star, who learned how to play golf in Hartley Wintney, is a former winner of the US Open.

Former Trojans hockey star Alex Danson, who also won gold in Rio, is also among the latest victims of the hackers.

Cycling greats Sir Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome were also targeted in an earlier attack.
