Pictures from Hampshire Fire and Rescue show a number of firefighters trying to cool down the vehicle after it caught fire at around 6.30am.
A crew from Kingsclere Fire Station rushed to tackle the blaze and is currently at the scene waiting for a water carrier to arrive to help extinguish the flames.
Traffic is building on the A339 between Basingstoke and Newbury after the road was blocked about two miles south of Kingsclere.
Police in the area are advising motorists to use different routes until the road is cleared.
