RUMOURS that a famous farm has been sold to a BBC Radio 2 DJ were quashed by the owner at a parish council meeting.

Clare Scheckter spoke to Overton Parish Council regarding next year's CarFest event, held at Laverstoke Park Farm, and reassured councillors that the farm has not been sold to Chris Evans, who hosts CarFest.

Clare also dispelled other rumours that have been circulating about Laverstoke Park Farm, including that all the animals have been sold and that CarFest is going to become Top Gear, and take place at Thruxton.

Tickets for CarFest South 2016 went on sale at 8am today; the event is held over the August bank holiday weekend, 26 to 28.

Overton Parish Council heard that this year's event went smoothly, and that 2,394 Overton residents purchased tickets this year, which was a 16 per cent increase on 2014.
