A SPECIAL collection of stamps have been unveiled to mark the 80th anniversary of the Basingstoke and District Philatelic Society.
The group, formed in 1935, has produced 300 special commemorative presentation packs containing an unmounted mint set of the Great Britain 1935 Silver Jubilee stamps and a banner showing a view of the Basingstoke skyline. The 1935 stamps were chosen as it is believed to have led to the formation of the Basingstoke and District Philatelic Society. The pack, priced at £10, will be available to purchase at the society’s annual stamp fair, 10am to 4pm, at Costello School, in Crossborough Hill on November 21.
