A POPULAR beer festival in north Hampshire attracted hundreds of drinkers last weekend.
The eighth annual Sherfield-on-Loddon Beer Festival, which took place at the village hall, in Reading Road, on September 26, saw around 750 people sample a selection of beers, ciders and wine.
Those attending could also choose to sample beers from local breweries including Sherfield Village Brewery and the Longdog Brewery in Basingstoke.
In addition, ale-lovers and their families could treat themselves to a tasty selection of pasties, pies, sausage rolls and samosas from Bramley Village Bakery while listening to performances from a number of local bands.
Gillian Woodland, publicity volunteer for the event, told The Gazette: “The sun was out, the beer flowed well and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the beer festival.
“It’s fantastic that people can have such a good day and raise money for our charities at the same time.”
Proceeds from the event will be split between Sherfield Village Hall and St Michael’s Hospice, in Aldermaston Road.
