POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was left with life-threatening injuries following a crash this morning.

Shortly after 7am this morning, a black Yamaha YZF R125, which was travelling along Bramley Road heading towards Bramley, was involved in a collision with a tractor coming in the opposite direction towards Silchester.

The motorcyclist, a 20-year-old man from Tadley, was taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance, where he remains in a critical condition with his family by his side.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Paul White said: "We would like to speak to anyone who saw either the tractor or motorcyclist prior to, or at the time of the accident.

“We believe that a white van, which wasn't involved, passed the tractor a short while before the incident. If you are that driver please contact us as you may have important information.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit at Whitchurch on 101, quoting the reference number 44150341913.
