AFTERNOON tea was made by pupils at a Basingstoke primary school, who served up cake and drinks for their parents.
The Year 5 and 6 children at Great Binfields Primary School turned their hall into a top cafe at the end of term, and with the help of staff, prepared some delicious treats including sandwiches, cakes and biscuits for their mums and dads.
Whilst guests enjoyed the food in the school hall, the pupils entertained them by playing various musical instruments.
The event was sponsored by Riverford Organic and Tesco, which provided some of the ingredients for the teas, whilst the Hampshire Court Hotel provided a range of ceramic tableware.
Jules Rogers, headteacher at Great Binfields Primary School, in Binfields Farm Lane, Chineham, said: “The event was amazing and the comments from parents were incredibly positive.
“It was great seeing our children taking their roles in the kitchen and cafe so seriously. The children made us all incredibly proud.
“This kind of event would not be able to take place without the support of people like Tesco, Riverford and the Hampshire Court Hotel and their kind donations.
“The children should be so pleased that they are contributing to our outdoor learning fund.”
