A PLAN to reintroduce deer and build houses on green land in Odiham “did not meet the expectations of much of the community”, the parish council has said.

Landowner Richard Revell unveiled plans for Odiham Deer Park, to the north of High Street, at a public exhibition.

The plan included deer returning to the land after 500 years and the building of ten houses, including one for the landowner, to help finance the project.

But in a statement, Odiham Parish Council (OPC) said the plan will now be revised by the landowner’s agent, Bell Cornwell, following feedback submitted by villagers at the planning exhibition.

The statement added: “In response to this feedback, OPC have been informed by Bell Cornwell that a revised proposal is being developed for the land.

“The extent to how far this will be achieved by the new proposal is yet to be seen. However, Bell Cornwell have offered to present these new plans to OPC.

“We are requesting that this is conducted in a public meeting.”

The statement also added that the parish council agreed at its June meeting to remove the site from its Neighbourhood Plan.
