A COUNTRY show will return to the castle made famous by a hit ITV programme this bank holiday weekend.
The Highclere County Show is taking place at Highclere Castle – the home made famous by hit ITV drama, Downton Abbey – this Sunday and bank holiday Monday.
As well as a series of events, including clay pigeon shooting and a Gundog championship, visitors to the event will be able to enjoy a host of activities including bungee trampolines and bouncy castles, sample fine foods at a food festival, a performance from a dog display team and a host of exhibitors selling items to purchase.
For the first time, the Highclere Folk Roots Festival will also entertain visitors with a range of top acts across the two days, including a set from folk trio The George Breakfast Band and performances from rock-country band Fred’s House and Daniel Smith Blues Band until 5pm on Sunday.
Music on Monday will be kicked off by folk and blues five-piece Celtic folk rock band The Rosellys at 11am and will finish at 5pm following a set from Love Street.
