A HAMPSHIRE teen made it into the finals of a prayer reciting competition.
Barnaby Trumper went up against youngsters from across the country in the finals of the Cranmer Awards, organised by the Prayer Book Society.
The 13-year-old from Ramsdell was named a runner up for his recital of Psalm 147 the Third Collect for Grace from the Order for Morning Prayer.
He was chosen to represent Salisbury Diocese in the junior finals at the Old Palace of Worcester which saw 11 to 14-year-olds recite memorised passages from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.
The top prize went to Isobel Keane of the Diocese of Norwich, with second going to Genevieve Baker of the Diocese of Bath and Wells and third to Yiannis Goeldner-Thompson of the Diocese of Oxford.
The prizes were presented by former High Court Judge Dame Linda Dobbs.
