A TEENAGE boy was treated for smoke inhalation following a house fire.

The blaze broke out on the ground floor of a house in North Acre, Longparish, shortly before midday on Friday, February 20.

Four pumps were sent to the incident which took firefighters two hours to get under control.

The entire ground floor of the property was damaged by smoke, and 20 per cent of the first floor, according to the first service.

A spokesman said: “A 13-year-old male was suffering from smoke inhalation but he was treated at the scene and did not need to go to hospital.”

A neighbour of the house said the family had lost “virtually everything” but had been touched by the kindness of friends and strangers following the incident.
