AN INQUEST has been opened and adjourned after a Basingstoke teenager was hit by a train in Reading.
Christopher Deadman, 19, of Wadham Gardens, Popley, was hit by a train at Reading West train station at 7.40pm last Thursday.
Officers from the British Transport Police, Thames Valley Police and a crew from South Central Ambulance Service were called to the station but the 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Peter Bedford, coroner for Berkshire, confirmed that an inquest was opened and adjourned on Monday, with the inquest scheduled for June.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said last Thursday: “The incident is not being treated as suspicious and the man’s family has been informed."
