A SCHOOLGIRL showed real blonde ambition by having her head shaved to pull in the pounds for a good cause.
Heidi Easton-Stephenson, who is only 10, had her blonde locks cut off in Trilby’s, in Potters Walk, Basingstoke.
Her dad Sidney Stephenson said he was very proud of his daughter, who attends Oakridge Junior School.
He said: “She was really determined to do it and to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. I gave her a challenge of raising £100 within a week to show she was serious, and after three days she came back with £140.
“I think there were some nerves beforehand but as soon as she was sat on that chair, she was laughing and joking. She is a real tomboy and she hasn’t been fazed by it.”
Heidi, of South View, was joined by Sidney, 40, and her mum Bea Easton, 49, who supported her as she had her head shaved by Trilby’s manager Rick Beard.
So far, thanks to the generous donations of family, friends, and visitors to the campsite her father runs, Heidi has been able to raise around £700 towards her £1,000 target.
Sidney said: “I don’t think she regrets it at all. Great Ormond Street is a fantastic charity and there was never any doubt in her mind that was what she wanted to raise money for. We are really proud of her.”
