A SUCCESSFUL Basingstoke summer camp for youngsters was rounded off with a dance show.

Children between the ages of five and 12 attended a week-long summer camp at Aldworth School, in Western Way, South Ham, which was organised for youngsters from local primary and secondary schools including Park View Junior School and Bishop Challoner Catholic Secondary School.

Around 35 children attended the programme, which is funded by Sovereign Housing Association and Aldworth School with activities during the week being run by Sports Xtra.

Youngsters attending the fun camp got the chance to take part in sports such as football, dodgeball, and cricket as well as being taught survival techniques during an adventure activity.

Doreen Crowther, lettings organiser at Aldworth School, said: “They thoroughly enjoyed the week and it is about the fourth year we have done this.

“We are very grateful for the support we receive from Sovereign Housing Assoc-iation.”

Mark Rowland, regional manager at Sports Xtra, added: “We got some great feedback from the kids and the parents at the end, which is fantastic.”
