FOUR local good causes are in the running for a £3,000 community grant.

St Michael’s Hospice, Basingstoke Consortium Ltd, National Ankylosing Spondylitis Society (NASS) Basingstoke, and Odiham Cottage Hospital have been shortlisted as potential recipients of the grant, which is run by the Lloyds Bank Community Funds.

Now each of them are hoping for public votes to help them secure the cash.

The Lloyds Bank Community Fund was set up to help people have a positive impact on their community by giving grants to up to 1,400 local good causes in 350 communities.

Members of the public can vote for their preferred community group online, by SMS or Twitter, or in a branch of Lloyds bank until October 10.

The local good cause that receives the most votes in each community will receive an award of £3,000, with the other groups receiving £2,000, £1,000 or £500 depending on the votes received.

You can find out more about the Community Fund, and how to cast your vote, by visiting the Lloyds Bank Community Fund website at lloydsbank.com/community fund.
