SHOPS in Whitchurch have dedicated their window displays to remembering various wars.

Numerous shops have adopted the theme, including Paynes Printers, in Church Street, which has on display an atlas that is over 100-years-old, ration books and old letters.

The Velvet Rose’s display includes clothes worn by the women accompanying King Charles’ troops who camped in Whitchurch in 1644, prior to the Battle of Newbury.
